Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information THE π LAB collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what we do — and explicitly do not do — with it. We engineered our own systems the way we engineer yours: collect the minimum, state the purpose, keep the logs short.

P.01

Who we are

THE π LAB is a technology and AI engineering studio that builds custom web applications, AI solutions and automation systems for businesses. References to “THE π LAB”, “we”, “us” or “our” in this document mean the studio and the systems it operates, including this website.

For any privacy question, request or complaint you can reach us directly at hello@thepilab.in. We answer data requests personally — there is no ticket lottery between you and a human being.

P.02

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit the project intake form on this website we store the details you type: your name, email address, company name, project description and, if you choose to provide them, your budget range and timeline. When you email us we receive whatever you choose to include in that email.

Information collected automatically. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure processes standard technical request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp and referrer — for security, rate-limiting and debugging purposes. This data lives in short-lived server logs and is not used to build advertising profiles.

What we do not collect. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, we do not fingerprint visitors, and we do not require an account to browse this site.

P.03

How we use information

Project inquiries are used for exactly one purpose: responding to you. That means evaluating your request, preparing a proposal or consultation, and communicating with you about the work you described. If we exchange further messages, we keep the correspondence with your project file.

Technical log data is used to keep the website available and secure — detecting abuse, diagnosing errors and planning capacity. We use aggregated, non-identifying signals to understand which pages are useful, in a way that cannot be traced back to an individual visitor.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models — neither ours nor anyone else's.

P.04

Cookies & local storage

This website is engineered to work without tracking cookies. We set no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics cookies. Where a small amount of state is needed for the interface to behave well, we prefer local storage on your own device, which you can clear at any time from your browser settings.

If our hosting or email infrastructure sets strictly necessary cookies to keep a session secure, they are limited to that purpose and expire with the session. Any future change to this policy — for example adding optional analytics — will be reflected here before it goes live, with a new revision number in the document header.

P.05

Project inquiries & where they live

When you press “SUBMIT PROJECT”, your intake details are validated, stored in our project-inquiry database and delivered to our team inbox. Each record is labelled with a ticket reference so we can trace exactly what was received and when.

Inquiry records are visible to the members of THE π LAB who evaluate and deliver work, and to the infrastructure providers we rely on to run this website and our email — subject to their own confidentiality and security obligations.

P.06

Third-party services

We keep the supply chain short. This website runs on standard hosting and content-delivery infrastructure; email is handled by a commercial email provider. These providers process data on our behalf only to deliver the service we use them for.

Some embedded or linked destinations — for example our GitHub and LinkedIn profiles — are operated by third parties under their own privacy policies. Once you follow a link off this website, the destination's rules apply.

P.07

Data retention

Project inquiries are retained while we evaluate your request and, if we work together, for the duration of the engagement and any follow-up period required by contract or law. Inquiries that do not become projects are reviewed periodically and deleted when they are no longer useful or required.

Technical server logs are kept for a short operational window — typically weeks, not years — before rolling off. If you ask us to delete an inquiry you submitted, we will do so promptly unless we are legally required to keep a copy.

P.08

Security

Traffic to this website is encrypted in transit. Access to stored inquiries is limited to the people who need it to do their work, on devices that are maintained and secured. We treat our own operational security the way we treat client systems: least privilege, monitored surfaces, boring and verified backups.

No system is perfect. If a security issue affects data you entrusted to us, we will investigate, contain it, and inform you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

P.09

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thepilab.in with enough detail to identify you and the request. We will confirm receipt and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

P.10

International visitors

We are a small studio working with clients across time zones, and our infrastructure providers may process data in more than one country. Where personal data crosses borders, we rely on the transfer mechanisms recognised by applicable law and on providers that offer equivalent contractual protections.

The rights described in this policy are offered to every visitor, regardless of jurisdiction — we find it simpler to apply the highest common standard than to maintain ten different ones.

P.11

Children's data

This website and our services are directed at businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and the project intake form is not intended for personal, consumer or child-related submissions.

If you believe a child has submitted information through this website, contact us and we will delete it.

P.12

Changes to this policy

We update this document when our systems or the law change — not to bury you in paperwork. Material changes will be reflected with a new revision number and effective date at the top of this page.

The revision published on this website is the version in force. Older versions are available on request if you need to compare what changed.

P.13

Contact

Privacy questions, access requests, deletion requests and complaints: email hello@thepilab.in, or use the project intake form on this website and mark your message “PRIVACY”.

We treat privacy requests with the same discipline as engineering work: acknowledged, owned, resolved — with a paper trail you can point at.
